Quiet Cars

The New Mexico Rail Runner Express is proud to offer Quiet Cars on select weekday trains for our commuters. The Quiet Car will be identified with signage outside and inside the car, and will always be the car closest to the locomotive of a designated train.

Quiet Car Commute Etiquette

  • Refrain from cell phone use. If you need to make or receive a call, please move to another car.
  • Disable sound feature on mobile devices and laptops.
  • Conduct conversations in subdued voices and for brief periods of time.
  • Maintain low headphone volume to avoid distracting other passengers
A Passenger Reading on the Train

The New Mexico Rail Runner Express hopes all passengers will remember to treat their fellow passengers with courtesy and respect, no matter where they are sitting.

Please email Rio Metro with your comments or suggestions regarding the New Mexico Rail Runner Express Quiet Car Program.
